so many things, so little time
so, i'm pretty much living out of a suitcase now
the vast majority of my life is in around 20 boxes - packing is freaking hard work! but I am glad it is done.
Friday sees that start of my cross south eastern Australia holiday (Sydney-Adelaide-Melbourne-Canberra for those playing at home) and a few places in between which is super exciting, can't wait to spend time cruising around with the most delightful man (who is incredibly patient with my insane bitch moments) rather than thinking about work/packing/work/packing/work/packing all the time!
I have been doing some 'Christmas experimenting' if you will, over the last few years and have come to the conclusion that Christmas is much better spent away from the normal abode. 3 out of the last 4 Christmas periods I have spent away, one in Melbourne with my sister, and the other two in regional NSW with my parents. Last year the old people returned to WA so I stayed home. Without a doubt it is a much more pleasant experience, if you get the opportunity, to go somewhere different. I don’t know that I can explain it very well, but all I can say is try it. Hopefully you find it as enjoyable as I do. I think perhaps the main thing is that you relax more. This year I am going back to Melbourne for Christmas and I can’t wait! Just me, the sis, her husband and my boy - sitting back, some drinks, some fabulous food and no stress!
I have some special shout outs that I just can’t miss, in no particular order
Steph who has had one absolute fucker of a week – I hope your karma bank is overflowing
Enny who has been unbelievably generous and helpful with all things Canberra – seriously, can’t send out enough praise
(on a less serious note) Mrs Beeton who recommends I keep some powdered opium in my first aid supplies – oh to be alive in the 60’s (1860’s that is).
